Log File is massive and show is lagging

I need help I’m doing a small light show for my grandmas birthday this weekend and have been working on it for awhile but I’ve noticed liberation is starting to lag.

With my project and show file its 18mb but when i check liberation log file its taking up 5.9GB which i guess is causing lag but I’m terrified to delete anything because I’m doing her show this weekend can someone help me?

I should be fine delete the log files or liberation and reinstalling as long as i have the show and project file right?

Hi Justin,

Yes, you can safely delete the log files - go ahead and do that.

Do you happen to have logging turned on? If not, it could be that something’s throwing repeated errors and filling up the logs.

If the issue keeps happening, please send me the new log file once it’s recreated, and also zip up your working folder so I can take a look.

Thank you for your help i do have logging turned off ill turn it on. After deleting all the log files its running noticeably better. Is there a time limit i should keep my timelines under is a 20min or 40min timeline to much? Again thank you so much for your help your amazing and if it does act up again ill send you the details

Hi Justin,

Just to be clear - you’ll actually want to keep logging off.

Even with it off, Liberation will still write errors to the log if something goes wrong. Turning it on just adds a lot more detail, which can make the files grow really fast.

Since your logs were getting huge even with logging off, that probably means something’s quietly throwing errors in the background.

I’d turn logging off again for now - and if the log file starts growing again, just send it over and I’ll take a look.
