[Feature Request] retrigger mode

I would love to be able to create a load of tiny effects and be able to play them like you would audio samples,

meaning that if a clip is still playing and i hit the same clip it retriggers instead of turning off

also if i hit another clip while the first is not finished yet it should have the option to switch or overlap with the other

also a option to make a clip turn itself off itself after its ran (esp for clips that only do things once) could be really nice i think…

This is a great idea. I often jam out libe with bands using the radiator laser synth and retriggering clips before they finish is one of my favorite things to do , mashing the buttons on beat

Im guessing flash isn’t what you want, rather a one-time play though. Set Oscillator REPEAT setting to 1

I think if you use 2 copies of the same it clip it would work. How would you stop the clips if clicking it retriggered. Disable the first and trigger the second at the same time.

also if i hit another clip while the first is not finished yet it should have the option to switch or overlap with the other.

This sounds like a job for groups. Again I think you will best to do some “sampling” by making a few clones or subtle variations with the SAVE A COPY BUTTON. Same group = fast switch. 2 groups - overlap and fade times

also a option to make a clip turn itself off itself after its ran (esp for clips that only do things once) could be really nice i think…

if i set the osc repeat to one the cue will stay active, and if i want to retrigger it i must hit the button twice

i am trying to make loads of tiny effect and play them like a piano

my groups are already in use for other stuff…

instead of a auto disable cue after run it could have a timer linked which turns it off after set time?

If I had to summarize, I think what you want is a clip -flash trigger that has a custom time length (larger than the max 5 seconds and no fade or customizable fade). This is a way to get one-play through that re-triggers every time

With regards to playing effects like a piano, you’d want a flash mode for the effects to do this. I’ve done this with attaching midi notes node in the effects. I never perfected the method.

With regards to your timer suggestion, How long are you looking for for a clip length? 140bpm, 64 bars is just under 2 minutes in length. Repeat thrice is 6 minutes. You’d likely just use the a timeline backing track after that.

edit: If you have external midi gear - pads would be best, you can remap it to be a flash pad for effects. Should be able to do what you want this way
