Not being able to drive an oscillator with triplets or dotted time is weird.
Perhaps, a dotted and a triplet checkbox next to the speed could be added next to the speed slider.
Similarly to a lot of VSTs LFOs

( in this image, first button is dotted, triplets, and then free-frequency. Enabling dotted or triplets means they are now selectable in the slider )
Hey @volumetrique, welcome!
I agree, the timing interface needs a full redesign, itās on my list, not sure when though ![]()
Thanks for the feedback!

Hi, coming back to this after not using the software for a while; Iām sad to see that there doesnāt seem to be any update regarding dotted/triplets or more complex LFO durations⦠A lot of things have changed for the better but such a simple missing feature is breaking some of the ideas I have for clips.
Hi Daniel - and welcome back! I really appreciate you following up and sharing your thoughts again.
I totally get that the lack of triplet/dotted timings would be frustrating in certain creative cases. The full timing refactor has been something Iāve wanted to tackle for a while, but to be honest, itās been hard to find space for it alongside everything else thatās been in motion.
That said, youāre not alone in wanting more flexibility here - and while a full overhaul still isnāt gonna happen quickly, Iāll take another look and see if thereās a simpler way to support triplets and dotted values in the near term. If something manageable turns up, Iāll aim to get it into the next build.
Thanks again for your patience and for sticking with it - I really appreciate it.

Itās still possible to get some āhackyā triplets by playing around with the custom osc, but itās not a good long term solution. As for dotted, I havenāt figured out a hack yet but Iām pretty sure thereās a way by messing with the oscillator phases with another osc.
I have a fix for you in the next build ![]()

You now have both a duration and a duration multiplier. Itās a bit of a hack, but it works well: you choose a base duration (like a 1/4 note), then set how many of those you want using the multiplier.
For example, to get a dotted minim, set the duration to 1/4 note and the multiplier to 3.
You can even use non-whole-number multipliers by holding Shift while dragging the slider - great for subtle timing shifts and phasing effects.

Thatās amazing! Seems like a good way to get what I want. Thanks for the update ![]()

Dig the new multipliers.
Any way to have it be floats instead of integer? Would allow for some crazier things such as accelerating/slowing down oscillators with another osc.
Yes! Press shift while adjusting the value to get a floating point value. And internally it is stored as a floating point so adjusting it with another oscillator will give you smooth transitions.
(Although this is still quite untested so let me know how you get along with it!)
Well, I got fooled by the fact that it gets rounded when not holding shift!! It works indeed. Leads to some super cool effects.
Came here just for this threadāwill download the resent release to try it out! In the meantime, consider this my vote to add a dedicated triplet/dotted option!! Will use it all the time.
