Hi Seb, I am starting to use Timeline more. Would it be possible to add markers for clip placement as the track is running? This would be a great addition to already cool software
Hi James,
I’m really glad to hear you’re digging into the Timeline more - that’s great feedback, thank you.
Markers are a nice idea, and they actually came up on the forum just a day or two ago, so it’s already on my radar. If you get a chance, it’s worth having a quick search or browse on the forum before posting feature requests, as quite a few ideas are already being discussed there. Jumping into an existing thread helps keep everything in one place and makes it easier for me to track.
Just to double-check how you’re working at the moment: are you syncing the Timeline tempo to the music file? If the tempo is set correctly, timeline blocks will snap cleanly to bars, which often makes precise placement much easier without needing markers.
If you’re not working to a fixed tempo, the usual approach is to hit Record and then play the show live in time with the music. That way your clip placements naturally land where they should, and you can always tidy things up afterwards if needed.
Thanks again for the suggestion - and I’m really glad you’re enjoying the Timeline so far.
Seb
Hi Seb thank you for your reply I would like to work with both options on the time line your suggestion are appreciated I think working on the fly to get a first fix on clip placement would be a great addition with say around 4 or 6 Colors markers on keystrokes or some keys on the APC 40 would be a good addition to work flow Loving Liberation good Luck on you open day in London Best James
Ps Ever Day is a school day with Liberation
I couldn’t find the other thread about markers easily - but I second this suggestion as a priority item. Your advice on adding timeline blocks live after syncing the timeline tempo is helpful! My use case for markers is more about planning how many changes/additions/scaling up the laser clip complexity should happen before a drop… And then more planning after that..
Regardless, thank you for everything you do @seb !
