Timeline features

Hello, I have some timeline questions:

Is there a way to repeat a block of programming on the timeline, e.g. 4 bars worth of programming, multiple clips of different length on two rows?

I can see it’s possible to select mulltiple clips on timeline but right click → duplicate does not duplicate them all. Ctrl+C and Ctrl+V would be very useful functionality.

Is there a way to add more rows? I have two at present?

It would be great to be able to make timeline bigger to see the waveform better and also to have a thumbnail / frame view of the clip.

Being able to add markers to signify changes would be great too.

Hi @Hagop_Heath-Matossia - great questions!

Is there a way to repeat a block of programming on the timeline, e.g. 4 bars worth of programming, multiple clips of different length on two rows?

Yes :slightly_smiling_face: You can ALT-click and drag to lasso multiple timeline clips, then drag them together to move them. If you hold ALT while dragging, they’ll be duplicated.

Ctrl+C and Ctrl+V would be very useful functionality.

I agree - that would definitely be a nice addition :+1:

Is there a way to add more rows? I have two at present?

Yes - just right click on an empty area of the timeline and choose Add Track Above or Add Track Below .

It would be great to be able to make the timeline bigger to see the waveform better and also to have a thumbnail / frame view of the clip.

You can resize the timeline vertically by dragging the timeline header up, and zoom in and out horizontally using the mouse scroll wheel.

Being able to add markers to signify changes would be great too.

Agreed. For now, one possible workaround is to add a tempo change marker that keeps the same tempo, which at least gives you a visual reference point.

Hope this helps!

Seb

That’s very helpful thank you. I’ll dig in.

Attached is this basic blank project. Here is an idea I finally put down for timeline markers. It’s just benign clips at the coordinates number which just coincide with the bar. Lots of spacing. They also double as a Paging button.

Also, if you lay down your track in full, then import cut up segments of the audio, it makes looping at the beginning a whole lot easier to build and place afterwards. Mute your main track. If you need a small tight loop, this makes it easier to shift the audio.

Thanks!! I’ll download that and have a look tonight.

Hi Gabriel i like your idea of Markers i will down load and have a try with it

To check a general behaviour, every time I want a clip to have different beam assignment settings, I need a new instance of the clip, correct?

Would be great to have a keyboard shortcut for the ‘add selected clips to timeline’ button
