FYI I’m not in any way affiliated with them, I don’t even know them. But it seems like a good way to automatically stay in sync with an audio signal, it outputs Ableton Link, which Liberation supports.
The other good option is WaveClock, but that doesn’t seem to be updated very much any more.

I used pulse for a gig a couple weeks ago (you can get a couple of gigs out of the trial version) and it generally speaking worked great. If the tempo starts jumping around or sudden drastic changes you have to help it back onto the new tempo but once you get it going you can pretty much leave it alone. I spent WAY less time managing tempo and could trust my clips were right in sync. Almost as good as having timecode
