until now I used Waveclock to generate the Midi Clock for Liberation.
After the upgrade to Sequoia Waveclock ist crashing directly on start and the developer seems not be able or willing to fix it / make it compatible.
Is there any other software/hardware solution which you or someone in this community knows and which works with Sequoia?
In 2 weeks I have a gig with another DJ and need to sync also to the other sound source.
OK so perhaps I gave you some bad information… I feel like this happened to me before but it may have been the last MacOS update I can’t get it to work any more.
The last I heard was Teemu (the dev) was in 2021 and he said :
It is still being developed, but when a new version comes it will be a
totally new UI system and stuff.
I am unable to compile the old versions anymore because of QT fuckery.
Also I am fully employed in another company and have bunch of other
projects as well so no guarantees when I will get to it.
So I’m guessing that never happened? It’s a shame because I feel like the Waveclock algorithm is quite good.
(Side note - QT! It’s a shonky multiplatform C++ framework but it always seemed super flaky whenever I tried it)
No problem, just bought Pulse:
Good is that I now can switch between midi and Ableton link
So Midi for internal clock from DJ Software and Link for external sound.
Probably just ask him if you can get the algorithm and include this functionality into Liberation
It’s a good idea but a) he probably wouldn’t give me it and b) whenever I use anyone else’s code it takes as long to implement it as it would have if I’d just written my own version
So yeah one day I’ll write a sound to beats algorithm
Stumbling on this post months later, it appears that WaveClock is now working (I’m on Sonoma). I’ll be doing some further testing, but it’s a better price point at $29 vs $299.
