Question for the community about Syncing Lasers to Music

I am trying to find a solution for my use case of incorporating lasers to my live techno stream sets.

I would like to sync the lasers to my music and using “sync by audio” is no good with any software.

Does anyone have a solution I can use or try out where I can either have pre selected CUE’s be triggered by the audio itself?

Timelines would not be an option because the tempo of my music can change from set to set. I also don’t play the same set in the same order. So if I could just embed some triggers on the tracks themselves that would trigger a Midi Cue that would be nice. Either way I am happy to hear of any solotions. If it can all software that would be a plus.

We work a lot with lasers and video for live DJ sets

The tempo part is very straightforward - Just use something like ShowKontrol to harvest the BPM data of tracks (or the new Pulse app by Joris @ Hybrid Constructs - Pulse – Hybrid Constructs which will ‘listen’ to the tempo and send out data via Ableton Link). You could then use this in a DAW such as Ableton to fire off MIDI notes to trigger cues.

However, (aside from having two laptops running two DAWs with each track having audio and MIDI triggers) building the triggers into the audio so that you can randomly play tracks and have it trigger cues at the same points every time is a no-go. 100% of the shows we work on with synched laser cues are done via LTC (SMPTE) and a timeline…

Sadly ShowKontrol is not compatible with the Pioneer OPUS Quad. Unless you happen to know a way around that? I can use the OPUD Quad in performance mode.
