Im just a hobby laserist with 2lasercubes, naturally i come from laserOS to liberation, its in many aspects a massive Upgrade And i love the programm!
2 things i noticed, first the colors of the groups are cool, but i would like to change the colors kf the apc4pmk2 freely, because i dont want any clips of different froups because i dont want them tk play at the same time, this results jn my apc40mk2 being conpletely blue, so its hard to see what clip im about to play without glacong at my Monitor, i udnerstand the colors are so you can differentiate the groups, but why not give us a few different shades of blue, dark blue, light blue, or make it so the group button has multiple colors that you can choose yourself?
And the other thing is:
Id love to controll clips with my PC audio, i know theres a setting to use an audio interface (?) but it only shows realtek ASIO and not my actuall speaker? when i select Realtec ASIO, it seems like nothjing is happening (and the audio effects dont work)
I would like to have Clips play in order automatically based on the music (or alternativy using the TAP bpm controll) to change the clip every beat, or every second or forth and so on
If this is already in the Software please let me know how to do it
Hi @gostey and welcome to the forum! I’m really glad you’re enjoying Liberation
Re the group colours - the next build will give you more control over which groups stop other groups, so you’ll be able to make them all mutually exclusive if you like. That should solve your issue of not wanting clips from different groups to play at the same time.
Re the PC audio - Liberation can only access inputs from your sound interface, ie a microphone or line input, so if you want it to react to what’s playing through your speakers you’ll need to “loop back” the audio.
On macOS, apps like Loopback or BlackHole which create a virtual input that can feed through your system audio.
I’m not sure about Windows options but a quick search suggests that VB-Audio Cable or VoiceMeeter can do a similar thing.
As for sequencing clips automatically, you can drag multiple clips into the Timeline - their lengths are set by the “Default Clip Duration” setting in Preferences, so you can make that 1 beat, 1 bar, or whatever works for you. You can drag a lasso around clips to select multiples, and then drag them all into the timeline. You can then play them in time with your music or sync things manually using the Tap BPM control. (You can run a timeline with live tempo!)
Thanks again for the kind words - I really appreciate it, and it’s great to have you here!
Hey seb, thank you for welcoming me!
oh that is awesome that your gonna add the color customization!#
the timeline sequenzing works great! is there a way to “play pause” the timeline with the APC40mk2? when i press “play” on it, it stops, great, but i would like to busk the other clips while i stop the timeline, then continue the timeline whenever i want, is that possible at all? when i press play to pause the timeline, all other clips that i busk are also paused.
hope you understand what i mean
is it possible to maybe make use of some of the “useless” buttons on it, like the buttons below the twist knobsa that say “device →” or “bank →” buttons by remapping them? (for example to only pause the timeline, not all other clips)
Ah yes, I know exactly what you mean! At the moment the timeline and busking share the same timing system, so that use case isn’t straightforward to implement - but I totally get why you’d want it, and I’ll give it some thought.
I’d love to make more of the APC’s “extra” buttons usable - that’s something I’m hoping to expand in future so you have more flexibility. I’m working on it at the moment, first by adding some more MIDI interfaces, and then eventually to give you full custom MIDI mapping. But it’s taking a while.
