Hi everyone. I’m trying to figure out how to get BPM/tempo from an XDJ-XZ in standalone mode into Liberation? I apologize if this is a noob question but I’ve searched (I think) everywhere and tried everything to no avail.
Currently, I’m using a USB B to A cable into a powered ethernet extender directly into my Macbook Pro on 15.2 (if that matters).
Here are a couple screenshots/explanation of them if they’re of any help. I appreciate any help I can get here!!
A driver I found on Pioneer’s website that according to ChatGPT I may need? "
"If your software requires specific MIDI routing (e.g., Liberation Laser, Ableton Live, or a DAW).
(I downloaded Beat Link Triggers but I don’t think I can test it properly without the XDJ)
I think the rest of the set up looks OK at first glance, at least you’re on the right track. You only need one IAC MIDI bus, and you should be able to choose it in Beat Link Trigger as an output. And then choose it in Liberation as the clock input.
Let me know how you get along!
Seb
FYI Liberation can sync to tempo data from MIDI clock (not MIDI timecode!), or Ableton Link. It can sync to timecode data from SMPTE/LTC audio but only for the timeline. It’s confusing, I clearly need to write the manual section on this!
Yeah I’m not sure, there seems to be something you set up in MIDI studio that you shouldn’t need to set up. But try them all and see what works I guess!
