Is it possible to sync Liberations Tempo to Ableton while using Ableton’s tempo follower?
It should be! Liberation can sync to Ableton using Ableton Link ( see the tempo window)
Copied from ableton ** Link, Tempo Follower, and External Sync are mutually exclusive; the Link and the External Sync switches are disabled when Tempo Follower is enabled . Live can still send MIDI clock information to external devices when Tempo Follower is enabled, but it cannot receive it.
I cant figure out how to receive the midi clock with Liberation without ableton link. Was thinking this could be a great way to sync up to external audio. Pretty sure the follow tempo feature is available in Ableton lite to so could be a free option.
Presumably you can still send MIDI clock when using Tempo Follow?
If you’re on a Mac you’ll need set up an IAC midi driver (In Audio MIDI Setup). Set Ableton MIDI clock out to send to the IAC driver. Set Liberation sync source to be the same IAC driver.
I’ve never tried this before so let me know how you get along!
Thank you, It works!! I wish there was a way to still use half tempo and tap is more accurate but this will come in handy if you are running sound or lighting at the same time as I often am.
