Best Way to rig lasers on elevated flat surface

In a few weeks, I’m doing a Laser show in a school and I am planning on rigging some of the lasers on a flat platform 3.2m high created by the seating in the school hall when it is folded up.

I’m trying to think of a way to secure the lasers that is better than gaffer tapping them down.

One option could be to bolt the mounting brackets to a square piece of board and tape or clamp that down using sash clamps. But this does not seem like much of an upgrade compared to taping the lasers down securely.

Keen to know from more experienced, laserists what they would do in this situation?

Thanks

Ratchet straps are a great option if you can get all the way around the base!

Call me old fashioned, but I’d just ue gravity if the head sits comfortably behind the lip of those bleachers? Are you expecting extremely heavy low-end in the audio that might vibrate the lasers off the shelf there?

Flip the yoke downward and put it on a steel or heavy base.

Your idea of a wood base and gaff would be fine. A heavy theatrical base would be best.

How are you cabling this? Seems like it would be a p.i.t.a. on a step ladder given the uncertainty of rear access of the bleachers. I assume the client / venue is cool with you using their property as structure. Are you bringing the ladder? Crank stand solves all of these issues.

Something like Screw Clamp-Beam and fix the laser to the profile with it… rather use 3 pieces.

Thanks, I don’t think I have straps long enough, and it would be a challenge to get behind the racked seating, I don’t think there’s any space there.

Not much bass at this end of the room. I may use the built in bracket to point the laser slightly upwards though. So maybe a bit of gaffer on the bracket to prevent movement.

Thanks, I do have one 3m tripod but plan to use it at the other end of the room. The venue has a ladder so using theirs.

Cabling - there are some above head level wooden ledges/rebates that run all the way round the room so planning to use them as cable shelf going over doors.

I don’t have any theatre bases so I think some wooden board and two bolts per laser will be the solution, then I can use the yoke to angle the lasers up slightly.

Good idea but the profile is about 20cm deep so would need some big clamps, which I don’t have.
