Both beam view and canvas in one video. Scored 2x 200w Par LED for $50 just before I went out. Got them into to the fold. First time using an RGB device in Liberation and observing what cross utilizing the shared parameters of laser and Dmx does / creates. I put the pars on a dedicated fader as work lights and it makes a huge difference. Consider adding some lights as a way to upsell your services, even if it’s front / back light for your dj or work light for yourself, some simple contrast from lasers goes along way, imho.
Here is a bunch of photos from the session. Mostly build stuff. Trying to bring the massive shade into the set. Scored this weird Christmas tree light install tool. Put it on a long pole and not need a ladder. There was a weird hook version that worked better than the snoot version. Scored a bunch of drill-in camping pegs with glow heads. Wind was savage all day until nighttime and the it was gone. I rolled some 2x6” wood into the shade and used the screw pegs to prevent wind sailing. Shade is oval, not square. I’ll do hooks on every gromit next build. Other than climbing onto the cottage for the one strap, I was able to put up the shade on the ground, sans ladder.
I got some used crank stands with 20’ truss to minimize ladder use building in the setup. It’s really fn dark out there. APC mk2 is really bright, I just learned that. Not sure if there is a way to dial down LED brightness. I fell short on time and energy, but I bought a Bluetooth midi, micro synth/sequencer. I hope to be triggering clips away from desk in the next build.
Lastly, masking. Do not ever mess this part up. TBH, I think it should be a requirement that you spend a mandatory 2 weeks playing with the masking and different beam zones for like an hour a day. No designing. The second you get complacent and say good enough, I already smell a near-miss or worse. Safety, first last and always
