Anyone have opinions on 10w rgb lasers vs 14w ones?
I’m looking at getting a set of 4 lasers from optlaser. Currently debating between 10w and 14w models. I’ve not put a 10 and 14w next to each other to see the difference. I’ve seen a lot of 8w and some 10w used, but not this comparison.
The cost per watt is roughly the same between them. I’m wondering if you can tell much of a difference, or if people think a 14w can be more flexible than a 10w i.e. inside vs outside visibility etc

I would get the 14 if you can.
All things being equal you wouldn’t notice a massive difference between 10 and 14. But the OPT PR 14 has a better colour balance between the r g and b than the 10.
They’re the same size and weight so it’s the same amount of effort to move, might as well get as much power as you can!

Oh another tip with OPT - don’t get the built in DMX board, it’s terrible and dangerous (as are most tbh) Get the one with wiring for an FB 4 and put in an ether dream.

There seems to be 2 camps of “if you can afford more power, get more power” and “10w is enough, you would be better off getting and extra unit for the cost of the upgrade to 14w”. You just evened up the votes I have in 
Interesting, they did do a 13w that had a different blue, but they don’t have that available at the moment, currently the 10 and 14w are advertised to have the same blue diode in them. I wonder if that’s still the case or not.
Ah fab yes, asked them for the fb4 “ready” version and that I would be putting etherdream in myself.
