0.9.9 No Clips and Col Triangles

Hi Seb, I have downloaded 0.9.9 for Mac, and there are no new clip decks or Col Triangels; they sit at the bottom, next to XY. Can you advise, please

Hi James,

I’m not totally sure what you mean by “new clip decks or Col Triangles” – there haven’t been any new clip decks added in 0.9.9, so I’m a bit unclear what you’re expecting to see.

Just to explain how it works:

  • If it’s the first time you’ve installed and opened 0.9.9 on that system, you’ll get the default project with the standard layout.

  • If you’ve installed a previous version before, then updated to 0.9.9, Liberation will load whatever project and layout you were last using.

  • If you want to transfer your content from an older version, open that version, export your project, and then import it into the new one.

  • You can also go to the Project menu and choose Reset to Default Project to start fresh.

Since all versions of Liberation currently have the same app name, installing a new version will overwrite the old one unless you rename the app first (e.g. “Liberation0.8.1.app”, “Liberation0.9.9.app”). That way you can keep multiple versions side by side if needed.

Hi Seb, and thanks for your help as always. I worked it out after I sent you the message. I used the set default, all is good again, as in clips efx, etc., thanks, but when I close the new project that I have been working on, it reloads as a blank project, as it did the first time I used it. 0.9.9 Sorry to bother you again, Best James

Glad to hear the default project reset sorted it!

Regarding it reopening as a blank project - that shouldn’t happen. Liberation saves as you go, so if it’s not remembering your work, something’s likely preventing it from saving correctly.

A few things to check:

  • Make sure you’re running Liberation from the Applications folder, not directly from the .dmg.
  • Check that this folder exists and is writable: ~/Library/Application Support/Liberation/0.9.9/ (You can use Finder’s “Go to Folder…” option to jump there.)
  • Avoid using any “clean-up” or privacy tools that might be clearing app data.

If that folder isn’t being created or doesn’t contain any files/folders, that would explain it. Let me know what you find.

Cool will do this tonight when I get home one last Question I am moving over to a bigger Mac book what would be to way
Add to new Mac do I just deactivate my current mac and download from the site again to new Mac
