I spoke with John from Lightspace who was very helpful. I enquired about their Unicorn 5.5w laser which currently retails for $2600. It has FB4 built in and I am trying to find if Liberation supports that, can’t seem to find it.
To encourage greater interoperability between hardware and software, Liberation only supports controllers with a publicly published protocol. More information about supported DACs here :
Ether Dream has the same connections for RGB and scanners so if you get a LIghtspace laser with FB4 connectors it’s not too hard to fit an Ether Dream inside instead.
Can you recommend any good lasers that come with variance in the US that don’t require modding to support Liberation. I much prefer liberation for Pangolin and would like to invest in some lasers that I can legally operate. I currently use the Emma RGB 270 5W but I don’t believe this laser has manufacturer variance in the US so I can’t use it commercially.
For reference, this is what the manufacturer of the Emma laser sent me regarding variance, but I don’t know how to validate this document
