Hey everyone,
it’s been a busy month since 0.0.5 was released, my continuing thanks for being an early supporter and helping me to develop the next generation of laser show software!
And an extra massive thank you to everyone that has moved to the new payment system to help me test it out. There are still a lot of you on patreon who have not yet moved over, that’s cool but bear in mind that if you want to use Liberation you will now need to move to the new system.
The work over the last few weeks has been about refinement and bug fixes but there is at least a couple of new things (ie the foot switch tap tempo, and zone naming / sorting)
Visual refinements include a new UI font rendering system - no more of the ugly bitmap font in the zones and on the clip deck.
I’ve also made major refinements in the output window zone right-click menu to make the options a lot easier to understand. And I’ve added zone renaming and sorting!
And the licensing system wasn’t working quite right in some circumstances - it should work fully offline while you’re within your subscription period but that wasn’t always happening. Please let me know if you continue to have problems because this is something that needs to be rock solid!
I’ve now implemented upgrading and downgrading on the license system, so let me know how you find that.
I’ll be releasing 0.0.6 within a week or so, Mac at first and then Windows when I’ve made sure there are no issues.
Feedback poll please make sure to fill in the poll if you haven’t already. The two major areas you have prioritised are the timeline and MIDI controllers so I’ll focus on those during the next major development cycle. I’ve invested in an APC Mini, APC 64, MIDI Fighter Twist, and a Launchpad Mini to help me understand what we need in a MIDI controller. I’ve also got a new iPad Pro to help me start investigating Touch OSC and what a specialised touch controller could look like.
In the meantime I’ll be getting 0.0.6 as reliable as possible in the next couple of weeks so look out for that.
Thanks again for your on-going support !
Seb
