Liberation 0.7.2 now available for testing on Mac AND Windows!

I wanted to get this sorted before Christmas!

See Liberation news and updates November 2024 for the full change list.

0.7.2 Build 5 for Mac
0.7.2 Build 2 for Windows

Now available on your download page.

Both are very untested (especially the Windows version) so please kick the tyres and tell me what breaks

Thanks!

Seb

Christmas is coming early! Thank you Seb!

I will be playing around on both platforms now, since I noticed I can indeed run the 3D visualizer mostly smoothly (unless there is significant microphone input on a patch) on my extremely old Macbook Air, but only after I removed the like 8 standard lasers that are set by default and narrow the number to 1. The fact that the Macbook was useless discouraged me at the beginning, so it might be a thought to ask for how many lasers you want to start out with when first launching the software.

Build 3 for windows now available on the download page.

Only change here is the fixed node icons (see Weird rendering issue on Windows thread. Thanks to @Lwsfin, @biggerb and others for your help fixing this very weird issue.

Hi Seb, while I’m working on the timeline, the audio is crackling and shifting. I don’t have that with the old 0.6 version. So it’s related to this one. Thanks

Thanks for letting me know, I did make a change where I check more often if the audio is in time, the glitches are when it re-times the audio. If you have a low frame rate this could make it worse.

Eventually I need to reprogram the entire audio engine. Another huge project that no one will notice haha

cheers!

Seb

What audio format are you using? Since I converted to aiff (from MP3) I think it went away for me

I’m not sure if the format should make a difference so let me know if I’m wrong

Can’t seem to get any output after a lot of resetting etherdreams, restarting software, starting with zero lasers, and re-assigning controllers… am I missing something with the update?

Thank you

It looks like your new installation isn’t authorised.

If you authorised an older version on that computer it should happen automatically once you’re connected to the internet.

Otherwise you’ll need to follow the authorisation process.

Cheers!

Seb

Oh one thing to double check - is your tempo source set to TIMELINE? If not then the tempo may be running at a different speed and the audio will be constantly re-timing to stay in sync.

Note that you can run a timeline using a different tempo source, just bear in mind that any audio / video will no longer run at the right speed.

I can’t find the windows version of 0.7.2 on the download page

How strange, it’s definitely there for me. Could it be your browser cache?

Hi, it’s ok at my place

Nope, deleted cache, force-refreshed and tried another browser… it’s not showing for me

Ah make sure you’re at liberationlaser.com, perhaps you’re at license.liberation.com?

Yep, that’s what was going wrong :+1:
