i just noticed, my new lasercube 7,5w ultra mk2 is flickering using liberation. (with flickering, i mean the brightness goes to 0% for a millisecond, and that happens around every second, in random intervalls)
i have 2 other lasercubes that do not flicker like this. (1x 7.5w ultra, 1x 2.5W wifi)
all cubes are connected via etherned cable, and my PC is also connected with a wire.
i also tried LaserOS, and there is no flickering at all with perfect beams
my PC specs:
rtx 4090
ryzen 5800x3D
32gb DDR 4 3200mhz ram
SSD storage.
what could the issue be? and since i upgraded from my 2 laser subscriction to a 4 laser subscription to use my third laser, this is kinda a bummer
i ended up reinstalling liberation and that fixed the flicker, a bit unfortunate for my custom effects but at least i exported my clips and timeline! sorry for posting my question a bit too early, but ive been troubleshooting for hours, and i didnt want to reinstall at first because i was in the middle of making a timeline
Hi @gostey, sorry it’s taken me a little while to reply – I’ve been tied up on a project recently but glad you got it working.
That does sound a bit weird, especially given that your other LaserCubes are fine. If that happened to me I think the first thing I would try is restarting the LaserCube. Otherwise it could be a network issue. Double-check that Liberation is definitely using the wired network interface and not WiFi. If both WiFi and Ethernet are connected at the same time, the system can sometimes pick the wrong one, which can cause odd behaviour like this.
Failing that, it could be a performance issue. Does Liberation seem to be running smoothly? Check the frame rate indicator in the top bar. (The two numbers are target frame rate and actual frame rate. If the actual framerate is consistently greater than 30fps you should be ok).
If it happens again, could you send me your working folder so I can take a look?
I’m glad you got it working but if it reappears, we should be able to get to the bottom of it fairly quickly.
