Help me to test the licensing system

Hey everyone! As you’ll know, the licensing system is really important to get right, so can you all help me to double check it’s working as expected?

How it should work :

  • You should only ever need to connect to the internet once your subscription is renewing
  • Unless you have cancelled your subscription, you get a grace period of 7 days to connect your laptop to the internet after the renewal date
  • For the rest of your subscription period you should never have to connect to the internet

Can you all test this for me? In particular I want to make sure there are no cases where it loses the license while you are offline. Any issues let me know, you can always PM me here if you don’t want to reply to this message.

Thanks as always, couldn’t do it without you, and with your help we can make this the most rock-solid and forgiving licensing system ever! :grinning:

I used the software on Friday for a live event. Without internet connection I was not able to arm the lasers. I activated the license on the same day at home on the mac.

Hey Stephan, oh no! I’m sorry that happened!

I think I’ve fixed this issue now and I’ll be uploading a new build today (at least for the Mac). Can you recreate the bug on your current version? And then do the same process on the new build?

Thank you so much for helping me to fix this problem

No problem, I just asked for a WiFi connection and then it worked

With the new build it’s working without internet connection.
Just verified it with the old build (same mac) where it is not possible to arm the lasers.

I also saw you changed the menu

Hi Seb,
I haven’t used Liberation for a while and now both my (windows) machines are unauthorised. The license webpage says I have activated the max number of machines. I’m on the hobbyist tier.
Can you reset my machine’s authorization?

TIA, Patrick
