I’m thinking of getting a Liberation overlay/decal for the APC-40. I think it’ll be handy for the parameter knobs in particular until muscle memory kicks in. Similar overlays exist for Pangolin and other software, and can be ordered as a custom one-off for about $60 - $100. Before I do that, is anyone else working on one already? Another option is to get it tooled and make a bunch of them at a much lower cost if there’s any interest.

I am definitely in on a group buy… but need to have logistics in mind.
but i am thinking it might be best to wait a little, if there are some changes that Seb is going to incorporate. give some time and it will more sense imho.

Ah yes I was going to say exactly this… the interface is in flux at the moment and the default mappings may change. At this stage I would just use some tape 
But in the future I’d certainly be keen to offer reasonably priced overlays.
Ok I’ll hold back. I might get a blank one to write on though.

I might be interested in this. I actually started on something because I am taking this on the road tomorrow and I need so teach my unpaid intern how to use Liberation with very little time to do so. I picked up what I could from videos and just jiggling knobs - but am I missing anything important?

Thanks for this! Looking good but there are a few things missing… can I get your blank template? We can then make an updatable sharable file on git or similar.
This is an especially good idea long term for accessibility- I’m color blind so don’t respond as quickly to visual cues based on color. I’d be interested once Seb feels there wouldn’t be any significant remaps.
Btw, have just had a couple days to peruse Liberation and am very impressed at the ease of use for a beginner laserist.

Was this ever done and if so can you link it. Just getting an apc 40 in this week and it would be great to have a cheat sheet we can reference.
It fell off my list, sorry! I will be concentrating a lot on documentation over the next 3 months so I’ll make sure to at least make a diagram.

Just wondering if anyone has done a better, cleaner version of what I’ve tried, maybe with chroma caps, or a paid or diy overlay. I’ve been a little out of touch with my APC and occasionally get thrown off by the lack of obvious labelling in the dark. About to get serious again so I used a label maker (quickest results). Used the loop side of Velcro to texturize the master fader. May delineate 2 fader groups next. As I type this, and looked it up, there seems to be glow in the dark labels. Cheers!
I would love a custom overlay, but it would take a lot of trial and error to get the hole cut outs right. If anyone has time to build a cutout and test it with a vinyl cutter, I can maybe help to design it. Let me know!

Perhaps there’s a company doing overlays for the APC already who would make them for Liberation to your design. That would remove the difficulty.
