10W projector with Etherdream fitted

I just thought some of you may be interested in this mod I did today for James Russell. I have fitted an etherdream4 with my switch board allowing to switch between using Liberation and some other software, into one of his 10W Nova lasers.
As you can see its a tight fit but it works well and as long as theres enough room, thats all you need!

Does the switch board sit on top of the Ether Dream? I would be very interested in something like for my OPT projectors and Ether Dream 4 if I can understand a bit more about it. I didn’t see the board on your site. How is the Ethernet routed, and how did you handle Ether Dream power?

yes the board piggy backs onto the ED. Power is fed to my board and this provides power to the ED from the onboard regulator. The board also needs a +/- 15v which is pinched from the scanner driver. This supply uses little current so does not impact on thescanner supply to any degree.
The board ais actually a 3 way switch, though in this case its only used as a 2 way. Ordinarily it has ILDA in out through a separate PCB that joins teh main switch board via a 14 way ribbon. When ILDA is plugged in it switches from internal control to ILDA in. WIth no ILDA you use a push button to select which internal controller is active.
due to limitations of this projector (ie only having a 3 port network switch) I had to use one LAN port for each of the internal controllers, though some lasers with 4 port switches allow you to still have ethernet in/out.
The board isnt listed on my site as it wa snever intended to be a device I sold, it was more for me to fit to customers projectors and thats partly as I dont really want to have to write a maual (that most people will ignore) and have to support many many different projector installations…but thats not to say I wouldnt sell to someone who knows what they are doing and wont need too much support.
I iwll take some pics a little later of the board itself so you can get a better idea of how it fits together.

As promised here are a few images of the board.
