I’ve been looking into the MIDI mapping through Chataigne but can’t seem to wrap my head around it?
Using a KORG nanoKontrol Studio to map it as an APC 40 with Chataigne, but I don’t know where to start, does anyone have some guides, tips, or tutorials to set me on my way?
Currently I set the KORG as input in Chataigne, make a state re-mapping it’s notes to other notes, but what do I use as outputting device?
I’m assuming if I set that as inputting device in Liberation’s MIDI Record, I’m set?
Hi Seb, Quick question. I’d like to use a Midi Fighter Spectra Black. I’d like to put some clips and quick accesses on it. While keeping the APC40 nearby. Is that possible or not?
Thanks.
HI @Pierre! I believe it’s possible using one of the MIDI remapping systems like BOME or Chataigne along with Liberation’s MIDI send and receive system, but it’s not something I’ve tried. Let me know how you get along!
Thanks, Seb. I finally bought an Intech Studio Grid Series 3 BU16 Mechanical. They have their own remapping software. The configuration seems to be saved directly on the MIDI device. I’ll check it out and come back to update this post.
I purchased an Intech Studio Grid Series 3 BU16 Mechanical. It’s a great product, made in Europe. There is software to configure the pad, and it’s very comprehensive. It works perfectly with Liberation. You have to configure a MIDI Note ON 127 and Note OFF 0 signal. Otherwise, it activates the clip but does not deactivate it afterwards. Liberation interprets this, but it is not a problem. For those who want to use a MIDI device in addition to the APC, I recommend using ‘MIDI View’. Test it with the APC to see how it reacts and copy the same settings to your new device. I had to do this for Note ON/OFF. By default, my device was set to Note ON 127 / Note ON 0. Feel free to comment on this post if you need any help. Have a great day!
