Machine ID changes when BIOS is updated?

Hi everyone,

I’ve just had a patron whose machine ID changed, and I think it’s because they updated their BIOS. Obviously this is a potential issue because Liberation thinks that it’s a different machine and it’s impossible for them to deauthorise and then re-authorise themselves!

Obviously I fixed it very easily for them on the server side but if you’re gonna update your BIOS can you let me know so we can see if it happens to you?

I had this happen years ago with another app. But, for me, it would lose the ID just from changing certain BIOS settings, not even updating it. The algo that is generating the machine ID is looking at something it probably shouldn’t.
