LTC Stuttering?

Hi, I am using Showkontrol to output LTC via Loopaudio. Liberation sees it, and triggers my timelines accurately but stutters heavily and almost loops itself. I’ve tried changing the volume and confirmed FPS is correct @ 30. Any ideas?

Hi Nils,

The first thing I’d suggest is isolating whether the issue is with the incoming timecode itself, or how Liberation is handling it.

A good way to do that is to use something like Timecode Monitor and Timecode Generator

Try this:

  1. Feed your LTC (via Loopback) into Timecode Monitor
  2. Check whether it runs smoothly and increments cleanly, without jumps or jitter

If Timecode Monitor also stutters or behaves oddly, then the issue is likely upstream (ShowKontrol / Loopback / audio routing).

Then as a second test:

  1. Use Timecode Generator to generate LTC and feed that directly into Liberation
  2. See if Liberation syncs smoothly to that

If Liberation behaves correctly with Timecode Generator, that strongly suggests there’s something off about the incoming LTC signal from ShowKontrol / Loopback.

If Timecode Monitor is rock solid and Liberation still struggles with that same signal, then we know it’s something on the Liberation side - in which case I’ll dig into it further with you.
