Only happens on my desktop pc, so I’m sure it’s something to do with my computer settings (I suspect audio devices?). Liberation will stutter for about half a second every 3 seconds or so. I’ve attached some logs, but let me know if there’s anything else I can add!
A few things are worth trying here, as this definitely sounds like something external periodically interrupting Liberation rather than a rendering issue itself.
Firstly, can you try deleting the Liberation working folder completely (back it up first!) and then restarting the app:
A few possible causes come to mind:
Windows audio drivers reinitialising periodically (sadly not uncommon)
Liberation repeatedly searching for or reconnecting to an audio or MIDI device
Attempting to reconnect to a laser controller (DAC)
Permission issues causing a config or cache file to repeatedly fail loading/saving
Are you seeing any other weird behaviour alongside this? For example:
settings not saving
audio devices appearing/disappearing
MIDI devices reconnecting
DAC disconnect messages
spikes in CPU usage
It’s also worth trying changing your default Windows audio interface/device temporarily, even if you’re not actively using audio in Liberation, just to rule out a driver issue.
