Liberation clips to SD card?

Another post  :

End of this month I have a small festival coming up organized by friends. There’s one spot where I’d like to have a standalone laser running a ‘curtain’/wavy pattern that’s just there for ambiance.
My lasers are equipped with an SD card slot and it should be possible to load .ILD files onto them.

I’m guessing it’s not possible to design clips inside liberation and export them onto .ILD out of the box? is there any way to play back liberation clips without a computer/DAC attached? Maybe there’s some workaround to ‘record’ liberation output and put it on the SD?

In this case I’d use a bottom half shutter so it would always be safe, and I’d always make sure theres an emergency button nearby.

In case something like this is not at all possible, directly or by work around; any tips as to where I could get some basic clips to put on it?

There’s no way to export a stream to a file from Liberation unfortunately, and Liberation clips themselves can’t currently run standalone without a computer/controller attached.

But if you just want a simple curtain/wave ambience effect, I’m sure you’ll have no trouble finding a suitable ILDA file to load onto the SD card. A lot of lasers with SD playback come with a bunch included already too.

And yes, your approach sounds somewhat sensible - fixed pattern, physical shuttering, and an emergency stop nearby, but I never leave it unattended and make sure it’s installed securely.

All the best,

Seb

I had the same requirement a while ago for running a laser “standalone” in the woods for an event. In the end I just dug out an old laptop to put Liberation on and placed it inside a pair of inverted stacking plastic crates to keep the rain off then connected it via a Helios USB DAC.
