Hi guys!
I’ve been playing with the idea of designing and building a laser bar, nothing fancy, just a cool look for shows, lots of single beams next to each other. This led me to think about other creative ways to use laser for productions. During my internship as an industrial designer about 6 years ago, I designed a LED Pixel for a business in the Netherlands, it’s what for instance ‘the sphere’ in la vegas consists of (lots of relatively large lights, look like a display from a distance, like pixels).
So I started thinking, wouldn’t this be an interesting concept to apply lasers in larger configurations?
Let’s say a club would have these pixels along the sides of a balcony, creating an entire laser bridge over the audience. Or you could arrange them in a regular laser bar, but use them for a completely different setup in another show.
I created a few slides to explain the concept briefly, check the PDF if you’re interested. Thought I would post it here to gather some thoughts, do you see potential? creative ideas, moments where something like this would have been perfect? Let me know!! No clue if I’d seriously develop this, as it could get quite complex, but with the right motivation, who knows!
Also feel free to completely roast and speak openly about the idea ![]()
Cheers!
