Etherdream not showing

Hello

I just purchased an etherdream 4 but it’s not showing up in Liberation. I can see the device on my network when I login to my router, and I am on the wired network on my Macbook. I can ping the etherdream on it’s IP address and it responds, yet it doesn’t show up in Liberation. Is there a magic step I am missing?

Thanks

Oli

Hey Oli, the ether dreams broadcast their existence over udp so make sure your firewall isn’t blocking those broadcasts.

I’m fairly certain this will be a firewall / network issue but maybe also check your router settings.

Good luck!

Seb

Yeah I’m guessing that the Ethernet ports are isolated from one another or something on my home router.

Thanks for the info.

Im using Wireguard and I can see the device transmitting on UDP port 7654 to the broadcast address

The sitter network utility also shows the unit:

But the device is not showing in liberation.
Any ideas?

Ok so after quitting liberation and re-launching it the problem went away (should have tried that first). It may have been caused by me switching between wifi and wired connections whilst Liberation was already open, but I’m trying to reproduce the issue and can’t seem to get it to happen again. Will report back if I do.

Yes that sounds right. I’m not sure if Liberation will always update if you change the default system network while it’s running.

Thanks for letting me know and glad you found a fix!
