Brightness of 3d output

Why does the brightness of 3d output drop off so dramatically with scale? Is it possible to change this?

Hi there!

In real life, lasers do get dimmer when you scale up the output - the scanners have to move further and spread the beam over a wider area.

Also, if you’re scaling the clip up and down (rather than changing the zone size), the difference can be more noticeable. Liberation accelerates the beam as it comes out of corners, so if those corners are closer together, the beam doesn’t have as much space to reach full speed. And slower equals brighter.

That said, the 3D visualiser probably exaggerates this - it’s just a side effect of the technique I’m using to render the beams.

But you can compensate for this - there’s a brightness slider in the 3D visualiser settings.

Hope this helps!
