Is it possible to record clips + effects in timeline live recording?

Yes - live recording will capture clips on the timeline, but it doesn’t currently record effects, clip settings (size, position, colour, etc.) or global settings. If you want an animation to be recorded, the easiest way is to “bake it in” to the clip itself before adding it to the timeline, so the changes are part of the clip’s content rather than separate effects or parameters.

This is where “Save as a copy” really shines. On the new variation, create the effect animation “key frame” you want to design. Save as a copy. Refer to this clip later on if you want to use the same effect. Swap out shape. “Save as a copy”. This is simply the greatest workflow I’ve ever encountered.

Yes, thanks, I’m doing that way right now, but I think it’s much easier if it’s possible to record effects to, especially when we copy 5-10 clips used into same timeline before and just change something (color, rotating…) with effects.
I agree, and it’s something I’ll be working on in future!
