I don’t suppose this could be live streamed or recorded for those of us in other countries? I would love to attend, but it’s a little too far to travel from Australia
I have just registered for the event. I’m really looking forward to it and very excited. I’m excited to meet you, but also other artistically like-minded laser freaks.
I’m still a real newbie when it comes to the whole laser chapter, but I can clearly see the enormous potential in the software. And if I understand even half of what’s in there, the possibilities are endless — especially in combination with my slightly freaked-out brain and ideas.
I did have one question regarding the afternoon program. I understand that this session is specifically intended for members of the LGBTQ+ community, and I fully respect the importance of creating a dedicated and safe space for that group.
Although I’m not actively part of the LGBTQ+ community myself, I am very interested in the content of this session from a learning and artistic perspective. I was wondering if it would be possible for me to attend as well — but of course I completely understand if this is not appropriate or if the session is meant to remain exclusive.
Either way, I’m really looking forward to the event and to learning as much as I can.
Thanks so much for the message, and I’m really glad you’ve signed up. I’m looking forward to meeting you, and you’re definitely not alone in being new to lasers - curiosity and enthusiasm is very welcome
On the afternoon workshop: it’s aimed at people from underrepresented groups in the events industry, with the goal of offering encouragement and opportunities that aren’t consistently available. Our industry is still very homogeneous, and that can make it harder for some people to step forward or feel like this space is for them.
Participants signed up knowing the session would be run this way, which allows us to create a low-pressure, supportive environment where people don’t feel the need to justify themselves or explain their perspective. For these reasons, we’re keeping this particular workshop limited to those groups.
The evening event (5pm–11pm) is open to everyone, and one really nice outcome of our outreach efforts is that it’s already shaping the wider event to be much more diverse than is typical. That broader mix of backgrounds and perspectives leads to more interesting conversations, more creative energy in the room, and a healthier, more welcoming scene overall. We’ve still got a long way to go, but it’s a genuinely positive step. There’ll also be more educational content coming online over the next few months.
Thanks again for asking so thoughtfully, and see you on the 30th.
unfortunately, I am not able to come in person. Are there any plans to record or stream the event? Especially all the lasershows. Would be a shame to not share them with the community.
Totally understand, and no worries at all. I’ll be recording footage from the event so you won’t miss out, even though we’re not live streaming this time.
I’m also planning to organise a live Zoom call a bit later on in the year once I’ve recovered from organising this launch party - I’ll post details once that’s lined up.
Thank you for your reply and explanation. I completely understand and have a lot of respect for your response. I’m really looking forward to London, if only because I’ve never been there before — but of course I’m especially looking forward to your event. It’s great that it’s sold out, and the program looks fantastic, so it promises to be something special.I hope to see you there and perhaps have a quick chat.
Good luck with the final preparations, and see you on Friday.
