Clip Trimmer

Hi Everyone,

Continuing to experiment with the various nodes that Liberation offers.

One thing that I’ve noticed is that the “Clip Trimmer” node, in conjunction with an oscillator (such as Sawtooth) can be used to simulate an animation when necessary. Seems as though it’s limited in certain ways, but I’m considering using it in place of importing an actual SVG frame sequence.

Thoughts, tips or tricks?

Hi David, I’m only just starting diving the clip editor rabit hole!

Are you suggesting this as a way to create fades in and out?

I was trying to work out how to do this and I think you may have solved my problem, if that is what you mean.

If there’s an easier way to create fades, please do let me know.

It can be used to “draw” on any image. Set it to “All shapes”.

Here’s a couple of fancy “draw in with sparks” examples
Add a brighter dot at the start or the end of the trim.
And then create particles from that brighter dot.

All the best,
